The Climate Data Steering Committee (CDSC) published its Recommendations for the Development of the Net-Zero Data Public Utility (now the Climate Data Utility) in November 2022.
The Climate Data Utility aims to become a global, centralized, open repository for company-level climate-related data. It will make more easily accessible a core set of corporate-level data disclosure that is critical for companies, financial institutions, policymakers, investors, academics, and other stakeholders to assess climate-related risks and opportunities. It will provide access to data in a consistent format that is publicly accessible and will draw on existing and forthcoming climate-related reporting initiatives and requirements.
As a global resource, it is designed to support global efforts towards transition, including those led by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
